Modern views on skin biopsy in the diagnostic algorithm of dermatooncological diseases

Background. Malignant neoplasms of the skin are fairly common tumors in world population and among Ukraine. The main method diagnosing skintumors is a biopsy, which allows establishing diagnosis at an early stage ensures cure most patients.
 Purpose. To evaluate modern recommendations for biopsy dermato-onсological diseases.
 Materials methods. search sources information was conducted using MEDLINE/PubMed, EMBASE/ExcerptaMedica, CochraneLibrary, PubMed та Google Scholar databases following keywords: tumors, diagnosis, melanoma. Among identified sources, works without statistical analysis, descriptions individual cases, articles conclusions, with duplicate results were excluded. depth 10 years.
 Results. As result search, 57 publications found that corresponded to declared purpose. methods are: puncture, shaving, excisional incisional biopsy. Most guidelines recommend full-thickness as preferred procedure suspected It indicated statistically significant mortality rate puncture group. observations showed no differences melanoma recurrence between groups. Given clinical diversity melanoma, there uniformity types biopsies performed diagnose inaccurate turned out be punch method, associated increased risk underdiagnosis melanoma.
 Conclusions. A mandatory first step establish definitive tumor. Excisional complete justified cases diagnosis. Rational technique remains issue needs further study.
